Krista Brock
Born and raised in Tennessee, it's no small wonder Krista borrows a bit from the blues. However, growing up on a steady diet of music ranging from Alanis Morisette to Slipknot has made her and indeed her sound, quite out of the ordinary. When listening to her music, a phrase comes to mind: "Powerful emotion". Her strong, edgy voice, combines with a raw acoustic sound, to make something truly unique.

TEAM GINA is made up of two fierce femmes: GINA BLING and GINA GENIUS, a former Homecoming Queen and Pageant Winner who have over 20 YEARS of dance classes and theater performances between them. They even appeared on the Broadway stage in XANADU and may or may not have been extras in the movie ROLLER BOOGIE. Let's face it; TEAM GINA must be seen to be believed.

Amy Kasio is a queer friendly, equal rights advocate for people of all ethinicity, sexuality, gender (which amounts to more than the traditional female/male roles of our society!), shapes and sizes that will rock your ears with distorted casio and your eyes with visual mini movie creations on projector for your keyboard pleasure!

Baltimore's Reina Williams

Well for Ms. Williams, making timeless music is her vision for the present and future. Having composed and produced over 45 custom music cues for various TV shows and movie trailers, Reina is continuing to build her resume while working with local acts as well as some familiar faces such as Lady Luck and Kool G Rap. Her influences are old symphonic composers such as Mozart and Bach, as well as some new school players like Quincy Jones and Timbaland.
Besides producing, Reina is a pretty seasoned performer as well. She has performed at events including The DC Black Pride Expo 2007 (with female rapper Kaliko), countless DC and Baltimore Music Showcases, open mics, appearances on College and Internet radio shows including WEAA Morgan State University Radio, GWU Radio, Brandeis University, Alchemy Radio (Australia), and DC based Can We Talk Radio. Her versatility is best experienced live where she may start the set sitting down with an acoustic guitar and Letting it Flow, to grabbing the mic and showing of her Emcee abilities over self-produced tracks.
Reina is truly an artist who is in love with her craft and who continues to reach as far as universally possible to spread her vibe throughout the world.

The goal of the Outmusic Open Mic in Washington DC is to create music within community and community within music. A major component of this community space is a sense of safety and belonging which should be available to everyone who enters the performance space - performers, audience members and staff regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, political affiliation, or any other factor. By listening intently and respectfully to one another, members of the community avail themselves of the opportunity to learn from and forge connections with one another.

We ask those in attendance to recognize that as performers we can learn a great deal from one another, and to cherish our differences in musical styles, tastes, and expressions as much as we do our similarities. We are drawn together by openness, and we remain aware that as our expression may challenge other listeners to think differently, so too may some expressions challenge our own comfort levels. In order to create a safe space for all performers and audience members, we recognize that we may occasionally need to reserve our judgement, and we may also need to answer to critics of our music. When we enter the space reserved for the open mic, we enter with open minds into a space that is accepting and simultaneously challenging, where we enrich one another's lives with our willingness to share with and learn from each other.
